FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does pricing work?
You describe the problem (or the service you want), we quote you a price upfront — parts and labor — before anyone drives anywhere. Published ballpark ranges are on the Services & Pricing page. If on-site diagnosis reveals something different than expected, we re-quote and you decide before any work happens.
What's the diagnostic fee, and is it really credited?
The diagnostic visit is $95. If you hire us for the repair we find, that fee comes off the repair bill — so diagnosis effectively becomes free. If you decide not to repair, you've paid only for the diagnosis and you'll know exactly what's wrong.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty on parts & labor on most repairs. That's the same standard used by the big national mobile-mechanic networks, and better than many brick-and-mortar shops.
What do you need from my location?
Reasonably flat, paved ground (jack stands need it), enough room to open the hood and work around the car, and permission to work there. Driveways and workplace lots are perfect. Note that some apartment complexes and HOAs prohibit car repairs on their property — worth checking first.
What jobs can't be done mobile?
Wheel alignments, transmission rebuilds, most clutches, engine rebuilds and head gaskets, tire mounting/balancing, A/C refrigerant service, welding, and anything on a steep slope or soft ground. Full honest list on the Services page. If your job is one of these, we'll tell you before you spend a dime.
Do I need to be there during the repair?
For most jobs, no — as long as we can access the car and reach you by phone. Many customers have their car fixed at work while they're in meetings. For diagnostic visits it helps if you're around for the first few minutes to describe the symptoms.
Where do the parts come from?
Name-brand parts from the same suppliers shops use (and OEM dealer parts when you prefer). You'll see the parts choice reflected in your quote, and you're welcome to keep the old parts.
When are you available?
Weekday evenings 7pm–midnight, all day Saturday (8am–7pm), closed Sunday — built for people who work a 9-to-5 just like you do. Mark your request "ASAP — first available" in the booking form and we'll prioritize it.
How does overnight service work?
For routine maintenance — oil & filter, battery replacement, brake pads, transmission fluid drain & fill, coolant drain & fill — you can book an overnight slot: leave the car accessible in the driveway, sleep through the whole thing, and it's done before your alarm goes off. Priced exactly the same as daytime service, no night surcharge. We just need at least 24 hours' notice so the right parts are on the van.
How do I pay?
Card, Apple Pay, or cash — after the work is done, not before. No deposits for standard repairs.
My car won't start at all. Can you still help?
That's our specialty — it's exactly when a mobile mechanic beats a shop, because getting a dead car to a shop costs a tow. We test the battery, starter, alternator, and connections right where the car sits, and most no-starts are fixed the same visit.
Is my quote binding? What if you find something else?
The quote covers the job as described. If we get in there and find the actual cause is different (it happens — symptoms overlap), we stop, show you what we found, and re-quote. You approve before any additional work. No surprise line items, ever.
What if it rains?
Light weather is fine for many jobs; heavy rain or extreme heat can force a reschedule for safety and quality. If your car's in a garage or carport, weather's rarely an issue. We'll coordinate with you the morning of.
